Horse Float- Ballarat

Storage is paramount in a small living space.

Small spaces must accommodate storage for food and preparation items, crockery, cutlery and waste. Clever storage design allows this compact space to even have the luxury of an appliance cabinet with a roller door to store a coffee machine. Every cabinet has been used to

A 32l bin pulls out from under the bench to store the waste. It has a small inner drawer above the bin’s fixed lid. This small drawer allows storage of ancillary items. An example of how every bit of space has been used to give maximum storage in this compact kitchen.

A slide out wire rack provides storage for food items.

Special locking handles are used to prevent any drawers or cupboards from opening whilst the float is moving.

The kitchen doors, drawers and panels were manufactured from a cream high gloss board.

The benchtop is 40mm reconstituted granite.

Dining, Sleeping and the constitutional.

The Float has a dining space that converts to an additional sleeping space. The seats lift up to provide storage for bedding and clothing. Overhead storage cabinets have also been fitted into this area of the float. There is a separate bedroom with a double bed too. The bed and seating were custom made by Buttoning Upholstery in Ballarat, they specialise in the manufacture of high quality seating and bedding.

The Float has a shower and toilet. It is fully air-conditioned for complete comfort within the cabin. A TV and sound system were stored within the joinery too.

This really is a compact home away from home for the horses and their owners.

As you can see the empty trailer that arrived at Matthews Joinery and Kitchen Centre in Ballarat was transformed into a Horse Float that will be the envy of all. The custom cabinets are second to none and we have a very happy client.
