Storage optimisation for modern Kitchen Renovation.

Storage in this kitchen is considered in every cabinet. Kitchen renovation with optimum storage in a modern style. The client was keen to update his kitchen to improve the appeal of his home for future resale. He knows that a visually impressive kitchen with great storage will increase the value of his home and improve the chances of selling at a great price. High end finishes were used and no compromises were entertained. The bench tops are a natural quarried stone giving a feel of opulence to the room. Two colours were used for the cabinets, the base cabinets are Polytec Ravine (a textured finish) in Maroso Milan and the wall and tall cabinets are Polytec Createc (high gloss board) in Ultra White. The feature shelving is Laminex 25mm Charcoal board. All of the drawers use Blum Tandembox softclose runners and all doors have Hettich softclose hinges. All of the appliances were Miele.

We were required to create a design that worked to the original tile line as no new slate could be sourced. The addition of the central island bench did’t create a problem as we were able to sit this on top of the existing slate tiles.

Pantry storage is considered.

The pantry is located in a walk way so bi-fold doors were used to allow someone to walk through even with the doors open. The pantry has inner drawers to improve usable storage. The utility cabinet has a roller door to enable storage of all the mess of everyday necessities to be hidden away when not needed.

Appliance storage is considered.

In the cooking zone there are two appliance storage cabinets each with a roller door. One provides a space to store food mixers/processors and other to store tools used for food preparation and the other a space to store the kettle and toaster.

Corner storage and access is considered.

Hard to use corners in the base cabinets were transformed into storage heaven with the use of the pull out wire systems shown above. The predominant use of drawers through out the kitchen renders accessible storage to be at a premium.

All of the installation is taken care of.

Matthews Joinery provided all trades and services for this renovation which ran smoothly and on time. I think the out come is fantastic and so does our client who will be able to enjoy the new kitchen for many years before they are ready to sell and reap the benefits again.
